Barn Owl Brewing is a one‑of‑a‑kind craft brewery in Kelowna’s Lower Mission, where history, community, and great beer come together. The story of Barn Owl Brewing is a unique craft brewery and coffeehouse in Kelowna’s Lower Mission, housed inside the beautifully restored 1920s Surtees family dairy barn. The story of Barn Owl Brewery began in 2018, when three friends discovered the historic barn’s charm and set out to revive it as a sustainable, community‑focused gathering place. After securing the lease, they began extensive renovations on February 1, 2019—restoring the aging structure with thoughtful, intentional details that honour its heritage.

When Barn Owl Brewing opened on July 6, 2019, guests were welcomed into one of Kelowna’s most distinctive, history‑rich spaces. The soaring loft, antique accents, and cozy living room with fireplace, create a warm, rustic atmosphere. Shuffleboard, board games, and regular live music add to the relaxed, community‑driven vibe that defines Barn Owl Brewery today.

Pouring 20+ small‑batch beers crafted on an innovative BREWHA system (14 at any one time), the brewery offers a diverse tap list featuring crisp lagers and pilsners, refreshing wheat ales, bold IPAs, fruit sours and creative seasonal releases. Favourites like the Lakeshore Lager, Wise Owl Nitro Stout, Genesis Raspberry Wheat Ale and Headturner Hazy IPA showcase a dedication to quality and flavour. Guests can enjoy their pints alongside local food trucks, unwind on the sunny patio, or settle into the loft on cooler or stiflingly hot days—all in a pet‑friendly environment reminiscent of a traditional village pub.
